TREATMENT: SIDE-EFFECTS

Temporarily swelling/ oedema of the skin. Erythema of certain treatment areas. (redness due to increased flow/ rushing of blood to the skin - similar to what you would see after injury or irritation of the skin)

Light to moderate pain - but most of the time very tolerable. A local anaesthetic will be applied before the procedure. In some cases a dental or nerve block may be offered depending on individual case presentation.

IMPORTANT: If you are prone to or suffering from Cold Sores please report to our Doctor - you might have to take a course of Famvir prior to the treatment.

DYSPORT

Dysport treatment entails the injection of Botulinium Toxin into the muscles responsible for the formation of the lines and wrinkles discussed. This gives the area concerned an opportunity to repair the line by natural or stimulated collagen growth (Treatment with Aluma will generate new collagen growth in the lines and your skin will remodel itself to the original status). Dysport is injected by a specialised technique to reduce possible side-effects. The effects of Dysport lasts generally around 5 months and may last longer after repetitive treatment in the same area/ technique.

You are welcome to consider your next treatment around 5 months after your treatment. Some individuals have very strong , well developed muscles and these might cause the duration of the treatment to be shorter. Others may have the opposite situation and will experience the effects of the treatment lasting longer than 5 months.

The Doctors in the Clinic follow a standard treatment protocol and the consecutive treatments would be given in similar areas every time resulting in the follow-up treatments lasting longer than 5 months at a time.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Your concern areas of treatment will be confirmed and discussed by the Doctor on the day of treatment. The planned area of treatment will be well planned and marked out. A local anaesthetic cream will be applied taking out the worst of the sting of the treatment. Your make-up will be re-adjusted if applicable.

GENERAL ADVICE:

Avoid pressure/ rubbing / messaging / cleaning / scrubbing for 12 hours after the Treatment. The effects set in with 3-4 days after treatment and you will see the full effect around 10 days after treatment.
